CURED CHEESE
CURED CHEESE 400g
SPECIALTY:
Hard cheese
Queijo do Rei Curado is made with raw cow's milk, which is curdled with natural rennet and cut into small cubes. Afterwards, the curd is placed in moulds, where it is pressed and left to mature for a period of about six months. During this time, the cheese is turned and rubbed with salt to help develop its characteristic flavor and texture.
The result is a light yellow cheese with a firm, grainy rind and a creamy texture. The flavor of Queijo do Rei is intense and spicy, with salty notes and a characteristic aroma. It is often eaten in thin slices, accompanied by red or white wine, fresh bread and jams.
